I’ve told you a little about Amir before on here and last night he had the opportunity to open for the up and coming artist Spose @ the Loft in Lansing, MI. The Loft is going to be host for other big names such as Jeremih and Chiodos also this summer.
The Amature performed before Amir and suprisingly brought it. He remineded me of XV…and although I couldn’t hear all of his lyrics that well, he had great flow and knew how to pump up the crowd. He’ll be releasing an EP later this summer, sometime in August. I’ll try to post it when he does release it.
Amir has definitely improved since he performed at Mac’s Bar a few months ago. His music is still one of a kind, dark and sadistic as always. I really enjoyed his live performance, even more than some of the recordings. He filled the room with confidence and got the whole crowd hyped for nearly every song, especially his newest song “Surge”. This time he also provided short intros to each of his songs which helped explain his direction and thought into each song. He also had his hype-man London Homicide to pump up the crowd. Here he performs his song “Brainwashed”.
You can download Brainwashed HERE.
Amir Pakray continues to redefine his style and improve his stage presence…I look forward to seeing where he’ll be in a year or two. For more of Amir’s music, check out his Youtube channel HERE and his Facebook Page HERE.
Sadly, Amir had to take his MCAT at 8am the next morning and couldn’t stay past 1am to watch the headliner Spose. A large portion of fans left after Amir had performed leaving only a handful, but I stayed for a few songs by Spose. He’s signed to Universal Republic Records and his hit single right now on the east coast is “I’m Awesome”which reached #37 on Billboard’s top 100 songs for several weeks.
He’s a comedic rapper from Wells, Maine whose songs deal with the ever popular and common videogames, smokin’ weed and not givin’ a f*ck. His major label debut album “The Audacity!” is scheduled to be release this July.
Here’s a picture for your enjoyment and proof I saw him. For some reason my camera wasn’t a fan of the lighting so its a little eff’d up, but oh well.
DKA out.
