A week ago I drove up to Ft. Lauderdale from where I am right now, Little Torch Key.
Now don’t get me wrong Little Torch can party its balls off, but last Wednesday I had to leave my cabin and go see The Weeknd. I been followin him since Bendey first introduced me about a year ago. And it just so happens he was havin’ his first South Florida performance…hell the guy has only performed a couple times in the US so far (he’s Canadian).
It was my first time at Revolution Live in Ft. Lauderdale and I gotta say the place is pretty sweet for concerts. First come, first serve for spots, two levels, plenty of bars to access, and judging by the aroma of the venue, little to no security.
…see what I did there?
There weren’t any openers. Just the Weeknd himself. Sadly I didn’t get that close to the stage, (sorry DKAliens), but it allowed me to move around the area and get different shots.
As for the concert itself, his performance was okay, I enjoyed it. With time I think he’ll have better stage presence, he still has a lot of time to grow. Abel definitely has a large following and I still think its only a matter of time before he floods the radio waves, however his music is definitely darker than his buddy’s, Drake, so time will tell. His trilogy of free mixtapes were fire.
I was happy he played my favorite song of his, Glass Table Girls (see above). Anyways, after the concert, and probably during, I’d estimate that about 17 new babies were conceived. The Weeknd knows how to set dat mood.
In other news, in a couple weeks I’ll get to see Frank Ocean at the same venue, pretty pumped. Fast forward to August and I’ll be seeing both of them at Lollapalooza in the Chi #huzzah.

ZOMG. Best concert of my life.
Man where to start? Okay. How bout a video:
After watching that video, you can appreciate how vivid and complex the show was. I’ve come to learn, as you should too, to expect nothing less than extrordinary when it comes to show put on by Mr. Kanye West. Yeah, call me a dickrider, but if you’ve ever been to a concert, you know he demands perfection. See Below.
Haaaa. Kanye funny.
Moving stages, explosions, light shows. It was the greatest spectacle since the Glow in the Dark Tour. No openers needed. Just 2.5 hours of hit after hit by the duo, with the crowd following their lead word for word.
This was my first time seeing Jay-Z live. He was superb as well. P.S.A., Big Pimpin’, and Hard Knock Life, were all great. Dope picture below if I do say so myself. *Brushes dirt off shoulder. See what I did there?
One of my favorite performances below. Brought me back to 7th grade after I bought my first Parental Advisory CD. Hard Knock Life Vol. 2. Thanks mom and dad.
And of course I gotta let you all see Kanye’s Jesus Walks Dance. See Below.
I know I’m just posting pictures and videos. But its really the only thing that can do the show any justice
, until YouTube removes them.
The video below is Can’t Tell Me Nothing. Awesome light show. One of my favorite Ye songs. I got a feeling Bendey will appreciate it too.
Well, I should probably get back to paying attention in class. The concert was dope. The show ended with N****s in Paris. They played it at least 3 times. Every time the beat dropped the crowd went nuts (as did I…I may or may not have had a chubby the entire night, either way…) Perfect way to end the perfect show. Well done Ye n Jay. Well done. Thank you.

I need to see this guy before he starts sellin’ out stadiums. Crossin’ my fingers he rolls through Miami or Ft. Laudy sometime soon. If you a fan of his, you’ll enjoy this:
“Impromptu Boise, Idaho show. Bitch, Look at Me Now (freestyle and fuckups) & Not Going Back at Chandler’s Steakhouse. So Funny.”
My fellow Michiganders, he’s rollin through Detroit at the Magic Stick, May 17th. do it. boiiiiii.
